Simple bills (without GST)
Use a simple bill when you only need a normal shop receipt — product name, quantity, price, and total — without CGST/SGST tax breakup.
Most small shops use this every day. You do not need a GST number for simple bills.
When to use a simple bill
Use a simple bill when:
- You do not have a GSTIN, or
- You have a GSTIN but GST tax invoices is turned off in settings, or
- You are making a quick counter bill and tax invoice is not needed for that sale.
The bill still saves in Billing History. Stock still updates. Payment modes (Cash, UPI, Udhar, Split) work the same.
Before you start
- Add products in Inventory.
- Open the correct shop if you manage more than one.
- Set Invoice format (thermal or A4) in Settings → Configuration if you want to print or share bills.
Steps
- Open Billing.
- Search or scan products and add them to the bill.
- Change quantity with + and − if needed.
- Add customer name or phone only if you need it (for example Udhar).
- Choose payment mode: Cash, UPI, Udhar, or Split.
- Check the total.
- Tap Checkout, review the bill, and complete the sale.
What you see on the bill
A simple bill usually shows:
- Shop name and contact
- Bill number and date
- Product list with quantity and rate
- Discount (if you added any)
- Total amount
- Payment mode (Cash / UPI / etc.)
- Footer note (if you set one in Configuration)
It does not show CGST, SGST, or GSTIN breakup.
Print and share
- After the sale, open Billing History for old bills.
- Open the bill and use Print, Share, or Download if shown.
- Bill size follows Invoice format in Configuration:
- Thermal receipt — small paper for thermal printer
- A4 PDF — full page for print or WhatsApp
